Resume

Dr. Xinxin Zhang graduated from Beihang University (China) with a B.S. degree, followed by a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Manchester (UK). She conducted postdoctoral research at the Manchester Corrosion and Protection Centre focusing on advanced surface engineering technologies. Since 2018, Dr. Xinxin Zhang has served as an Associate Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China), where she leads interdisciplinary research in corrosion science and functional coatings.

Her research interests centre on corrosion mechanisms, plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO), and multifunctional coatings for aerospace, marine, and biomedical applications. She specialises in tailoring microstructures and electrochemical properties of light alloys (e.g., Mg, Al, Ti) through hybrid surface modification strategies, aiming to enhance durability and environmental adaptability in extreme conditions.
